The meaning of the Brights UK teacup is two-fold. It of course refers to the national symbol of the traditional brew. But in addition, as the image of the red planet hints, it also refers to Bertrand Russell's infamous hypothetical teapot. The hypothetical teapot orbits "between the Earth and Mars". The proposed existence of the teapot is a test case for the non sequitur of asserting an hypothesis merely on the grounds that it has not been, or cannot be, refuted.
Russell himself was a famous British philosopher and secularist.

Bright (noun) a person whose worldview is naturalistic -- free of supernatural and mystical elements. A Bright's ethics and actions are based on a naturalistic worldview.
